WE WANT YOU to Join the Horsehead Lake Association!
In a nutshell, the HLA is a non-profit group of citizens (who are dues paying members) dedicated to preserve and enhance the environmental and recreational quality of Horsehead Lake, Big John Brown Lake and Little John Brown Lake. We can accomplish this mission by enlisting the property owners surrounding our three lakes to promote, organize, manage and support efforts toward our mutual objectives.
The dues are only $20 per year! Please join your organization! In doing so you will:
Meet your neighbors and other lake homeowners
Make it easier for us to disseminate information on lake issues to you
Receive the quarterly HLA magazine, The Feedbag
Be able to vote at the general membership meeting on important lake topics
As a property owner and HLA member, communicate your wants and needs to the Board
Some of the activities organized and sponsored by the Horsehead Lake Association are:
Fish population survey conducted by MSU
Periodic water testing of the lakes
Fish planting project
The 4th of July boat parade
Maintaining proper lake levels
Addressing the Eurasian Watermilfoil problem
The HLA is your only local organization looking out for the welfare of Horsehead and the John Brown Lakes! All of the time and effort put forth by the HLA enhances the value of your property!
Did you know...there are approximately 400 potential HLA members (these are homeowners with lake frontage or lake access). We have 210 current members. The highest the membership has ever been was 260. We have a goal of 300 members or a 47% increase in membership for the upcoming year! You can help by promoting the HLA to your lake neighbors and friends.
