Fishing is great in June. I personally like to fish for crappie, but fishing for most other species is good too.

Nephew fishing in LJB was landing a little bass when a pike decided all that wiggling sounded like a dinner bell. The bass threw the hook but to pike took over, zipping out quite a bit of line before giving up. The fish ~28 " was appropriately oohed and aahed over at the cabin. Then released in east end of HHL where he faces a 1/4 mile swim if he wants to go home

My son Tom caught a 28 inch. Northern Pike on Sunday Oct. 5. In Sept. Spencer Vrooman caught a 37 1/2" Pike & Larry White got a 36 incher. Seems like it may be a great fall for catching Pike.

Don't forget, we'll be stocking 2600 7 inch walleye sometime this month. We don't know the exact time or date yet because the fish can't be moved until the water is at the right temperature to ensure survival and permit safe transport. With any luck these fish should be catchable within a year or two at the most. Past surveys by the DNR have revealed that walleye growth in our lakes is above state averages. We're looking forward to some greatly improved walleye fishing.
